Reverse an unusual solution going the opposite you can expect. The remote control Reverse represents the perfect equilibrium within innovation, aesthetics and functionality. On its main side it becomes an ornament for your house, ready to switch on the stove without the need of being clasped. On the other side it's a multi-function interface with temperature sensor, large display and soft touch keyboard. Ordering the buttons according to the functions hierarchy, the remote control has been transformed from an errant object to a real functional ornament that offers just the essential use.

MCZ, leader in the commercialization of pellet stoves, recognized in the remote control the distinctive element of its core business. Already existing element in the MCZ range of products, the remote control is one of the product's surplus value to differentiate from competitors. The company gave Emo a precise request: designing a new remote control consistent with the new range of pellet stoves and able to substitute the previous one characterized by an outdated language.

The remote control market is quite flat, characterized by similar objects with long shape and wide number of buttons; the colour ranges over black and white tonality. The pellet stove's remote control is not meant to be hold in the hand for a long time, it is not even an object that needs high interaction: the stove is mainly turned on and off, rarely the temperature is changed.

The main goal was to transfer the company's values into the product; we had to give it a domestic feeling opposite to the high tech "old school" feeling of the previous remote control. Discrediting the myth of the remote control as an errant object and focusing on its ornamental function, Emo design had decided to leave ergonomics as a secondary aspect, preferring the domestic integration as the principal design driver of the project.
