Seductive character

Tool and Blade represents a MCZ style that is pure in shape and detail and captures a modern and traditional feel that is synonymous with clean design, while keeping aligned with current trends in the wood heating market.

As MCZ decided to develop new accessories, they faced a saturated market where tradition and innovation have been mixed for quite sometime. On one side wrought iron products, evocative of an ancient craftmenship but still strong in a nostalgic market, on the other side "alternative" products made of glass, leather and wood, often flashy and overpriced. Our design team has realized the lack of a contemporary and polished style, taking this into consideration as a starting point to develop new design solutions.

The "Tool family" of fireplace accessories loses its original value of loud, heavy and uncomfortable objects, becoming a precise and valuable work instrument. The circular handle with knurled grip brings to mind the precision instruments and the control dials of watches, a cold and technical design language that is balanced by the accessories case, (a small container bucket) as used in the past.

In the "Blade family", each item comes from a simple folded sheet metal enriched with a handle made of ash wood. A clean shape that stands out thanks to the details and the marked contrast between the finishing of wood and the matte black metal. A design language that continues through to the base, coherent in style and form, and becomes the stage for this set of tools.
